why We ARE OAKmoor…
The OAKmoor Hockey Academy is a unique athletic platform to enable dedicated athletes to get to the next level. Respect and Prepare are the core values of this platform, and are enforced on a daily basis in order to achieve, athletic excellence and personal growth. In an athlete-centered approach, every phase of the athlete’s experience at the facility is designed to fully prepare them to succeed at the next level.
Oakmoor Hockey is a skill development based program. We have professional skill development coaches that have trained, coached and played at the highest hockey levels. Our focus is developing hockey players both on and off ice. We are not connected to Des Moines youth hockey. We are looking to work with all association or individual teams across the mid-west to help with there skill development. Metro ice facility is our home ice, but our coaches travel all over the U.S. to develop hockey players. Oakmoor is just giving the local players and family’s options to develop as a hockey player. If the question is about our pre and post teams, these teams don’t interfere with any Midwest affiliate programs. These teams are extra, for the players that want more out of there hockey experience. We hope this answers questions and hope everyone understands we are trying to improve skill development in the area.
